Reflection

My classmate partner I recorded multiple audios before deciding to make an artwork based off by this one. We placed the phone on the ground under a tree with a very natural and untouched surface; sticks, leaves, rocks, dirt and grass situated under a large tree. Once experimenting with other possibilities for the audio and choosing one, we experimented with distorting it; slowing it down and speeding it up.

My classmate partner created the artwork hanging on the front of the pillar, she used gestural techniques and the added medium of distressed string hanging from the page. This artwork differs from mine in colour and style, mine has a very refined boarder and distinctive shapes. Although, the finger print spotting in the lower corners of my partners work are similar to the round organic shapes in the centre of my artwork; we discussed this further and discovered that both marks were inspired by the sounds of footprints in our audio.
